AGV - Automated Guided Vehicles

An AGV is essentially a portable robot that moves along lines or wires marked on the ground and can also use radio waves, vision cameras, magnets, and lasers to guide its movement. The equipment is controlled by a dedicated software system and is battery-powered.

This type of automated vehicle transports everything from small to large loads and can work in conjunction with the warehouse management system, which transmits movement signals so the AGV can move materials. Its use ranges from production and assembly lines to distribution centers, enabling hybrid traffic, consisting of AGVs and people.

In a production environment where multiple operations are carried out simultaneously, these vehicles can ensure the predictable and reliable transfer of raw materials as well as manufactured products from one point to another within the facility, eliminating any potential disruption to production.

These vehicles can operate safely around structures, machinery, and personnel because they are equipped with accessories such as vision cameras and LiDAR sensors.

There are two main variations of line following AGV controls—following ground wire or following a painted or taped line on the ground. It's important to choose the right path, as buried wire is more permanent than a painted or taped line that can be easily moved.

The camera system features object detection, cargo location, and area control, all offering exceptional security capabilities and control over areas through the use of a multiple camera array.

Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are 100% autonomous robotic transport and handling devices that move goods without human intervention.

They handle all repetitive, non-strategic handling tasks that don't require specific human skills—inventory management, goods movement, container unloading, replenishment, or evacuation of final production lines. AGVs follow programmed trajectories and adapt to any environment, including tight spaces.
