There are many processes used to weld aluminum, the most commonly used are:
MIG (Metal Inert Gas)
MIG welding is a process in which an electric arc – obtained through a direct current – is established between the workpiece and a wire or aluminum alloy, which combines the functions of an electrode and filler metal, in an atmosphere where an inert gas is present.
TIG (Tungsten Inert Gás)
Na soldagem TIG, o arco elétrico é estabelecido entre um eletrodo de tungstênio – caracterizado por ser não consumível – e a peça, também numa atmosfera de gás inerte.
Neste processo, o arco elétrico pode ser obtido por meio de corrente alternada (CA), corrente contínua (CC) e eletrodo positivo ou corrente contínua e eletrodo negativo.
